On November 29, 2021, your UPE 005 Negotiations Team met with the County to present our counter-proposal regarding the ARPA funds. UPE reminded the County that the intent of the ARPA reopener was to negotiate based on the full $300 million the County was slated to receive, not $150 million.

Therefore, UPE presented the County with a counter-proposal of a one-time payment of $3000 or 80 hours of Administrative Time Off. Additionally, UPE proposed a modified timeline to ensure those currently working during the pandemic are not excluded.

The County is scheduled to meet with the Board of Supervisors in a closed session meeting on December 7, 2021, to discuss our proposal. We will reconvene on December 10, 2021.
