On May 21, 2025, your 005 Governing Board met with the County for another contract negotiation session. We reached a few tentative agreements, which we consider to be wins. For standby assignments, we attained language that would compensate employees on standby, who are not called in to work, but who respond to a call, text, or email, paid in six-minute increments. All your time doing work-related activities deserves to be paid for. We also got language that would require the County to arrange and pay for paralegals’ certification training. Before this, paralegals weren’t receiving their required training.
They also provided us with a counter proposal to their original on family death leave, which we are going to prepare a response to for the next time we meet.
Our next bargaining session is on May 28, 2025. Please remember to wear RED in support of your bargaining team.
