On May 15, 2025, 005 board members and advocates at DCSS met with management to discuss the pilot of a process within their new SimpliGov system. The Court Legal Unit is responsible for handling notices of motions when received from attorneys. Because the CSE system does not interface with SimpliGov, Court Legal was having to retype what the attorney typed and put it into CSE. This took unnecessary extra time to handle, so the unit came up with the great idea of imaging what the attorney typed into CSE, and just typing an activity log to go along with it. DCSS and SimpliGov coordinators liked this idea and will go forward with this way of doing it. Court Legal shared a few other suggestions regarding SimpliGov and how it can be improved, and management appreciated this feedback.
We will be having a follow-up meeting towards the end of June to discuss additional system issues if they are to arise.
