Time-Off for COVID-19 Vaccines Ends

UPE and the County met to discuss the County’s intent to end the two-hour allowance for COVID-19 vaccines. During the height of the pandemic, the County was providing up to two hours for COVID-19 testing and/or vaccinations. However, as the COVID-19 pandemic has ended, many of the provisions related to COVID-19 have slowly phased out.

As of January 1, 2024, the County will no longer provide the two-hour allowance. Time off for vaccines would be coded as the appropriate employee leave balance, if applicable. In the event COVID-19 requirements change, UPE and the County will meet again to discuss.

UPE would like to thank Nichole Gorman, Stephanie McCall, Sylvia Garcia, James Starr, Monica Stephens, and Jennifer Avalo, for participating in this discussion.
