Greetings Union Brothers and Sisters,

Your Sutter Court Bargaining Team met with the Court for our final scheduled negotiations session. We are happy to share that we have reached a tentative agreement on a successor contract for 2025-2027, a 2-year contract. Here are the key takeaways:

  • We got the Court to agree to a 5.5% salary adjustment in year 1, and a 2% salary adjustment in year 2.
  • We pushed the Court to increase their flat-rate healthcare contributions.
  • Increase in tuition reimbursement from $275 to $500.
  • We won an increase in longevity for employees with 25 and 30 years of service. They will now get a 5% one-time lump sum payment, instead of the prior 2.5%.
  • We got the Court to agree to meet and confer with the Union regarding retiree health contributions during the life of this contract. We hope these discussions can lead to an increase in retiree health contributions in the near future.

We are holding a Bargaining Action Committee meeting this Thursday, 11/6/25, at 5:30 pm at the Roundtable on Stabler Lane. Please come out to learn more about what the contract will look like and ask any questions before you have the chance to vote on it. We plan to open voting the following week (the week of November 10th). Stay tuned for the date and location.

UPE thanks our advocates for all of their hard work and voice during this process. Thank you to Jennifer Lambert, Warren Simpson, and Shara Hunter for all of your efforts.

TOGETHER WE ARE STRONG!
