Since the strike on July 8, 2025, Sacramento County has yet to make any movement on their proposals. They are still asking for too many takeaways, including asking for a blank check to change health care plans and costs.
The UPE 005 and 008 Bargaining Teams are calling on the membership for a two-day strike and demand that the County negotiate a fair and livable contract and stop the takeaways. The County must once again hear your voice and understand your power and understand just how essential you are to the County's operations!!
WE MUST STAND TOGETHER FOR LIVABLE WAGES AND BENEFITS! These takeaways are unacceptable, and UPE will continue to push back on any employer who wishes to suppress our members' collective bargaining rights that we and other unions fought for years to obtain.
IMPORTANT: IF YOU ARE TELEWORKING, DO NOT LOG ON. YOU CAN EITHER GO TO YOUR OFFICE OR TO THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATIVE BUILDING 700 H STREET AND JOIN THE STRIKE THERE. IF YOU GO TO YOUR WORKSITE AND THERE IS NO PICKET LINE UP, DO NOT GO IN YOUR OFFICE, REPORT TO 700 H STREET AND JOIN THE STRIKE THERE. IF THERE IS A PICKET LINE AT YOUR OWN WORKSITE, JOIN IT!
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: Bargaining Unit members with shifts that overlap 8/4/25 and 8/5/25 will strike for the shift that begins during the strike period. For example, if you work from 11 pm to 8 am, you will go into work at 11 pm on 8/4/25 and work the whole shift. You would then strike for the shift beginning at 11 pm on 8/5/25 and again on 8/6/25. A member with a shift from 5:00 pm to 1:30 am would go into work at 5:00 pm on 8/4/25 and work the whole shift and then strike for the entire shift beginning at 5:00 pm on 8/5/25 and again on 8/6/25. Finally, members with shifts from 1:00 am to 9:30 am would strike for the entirety of their shift on 8/5/25 and 8/6/25.
