Greetings, Union Brothers & Sisters

The 005/008 members met with the department regarding proposed changes to lobby services. This includes the addition of information desks, the re-opening of resource rooms, and the manning of the kiosks. The department has now proposed using Office Assistants at the information desks. UPE insisted that duties for that desk be re-evaluated to match the job description for OAs. UPE also demanded that the kiosks near the public restrooms be moved so our members are not subjected to that environment for the entirety of their shift. The department finally agreed to shut the kiosks down in that part of the lobby, effective immediately, until a suitable solution can be found. In part, due to the multiple issues & questions UPE has brought up, management has had to adjust their timeline for implementation. Additional meetings are being scheduled to address our concerns, and we will inform you as we progress. Stay tuned.

Special thanks to subject matter experts Queen Robinson, Sergey Koshcheyev, Blanca Payton, Nichole Gorman, Stephanie McCall, Jennifer Avalo, and Deborah Tellez
