The department proposed that employees ensure their time off is approved before making any travel plans.
UPE raised concerns about how long it can take to receive approval, as this could impact those with tight schedules. The department reassured UPE that vacation requests are usually handled promptly and that they will continue to respond in a timely manner based on the situation.
UPE and the department also worked together to introduce gender-neutral pronouns into the policy, fostering a more inclusive environment for all employees and ensuring that the language used reflects a commitment to equality and respect in the workplace. As always, UPE is committed to keeping you informed and advocating for your best interests.
