DHA/ General Assistance: Resumption of Pre-Pandemic Processes

Greetings, Union sisters and brothers.  On September 13, 2024, your UPE 008 bargaining team met again with GA management regarding the proposed resumption of pre-COVID procedures in the General Assistance program.

Among the issues covered were:

• Availability of sufficient interview booths to handle the increase in FTF intakes.

• The reopening of the 28th Street lobby resource room for the use of customers to apply for VIB and register for CalJOBS.

• Safety issues and safety training.

• Refresher training for resumptions of pre-COVID procedures; and

• Early elimination of phone applications.
