Criminal Records Request and Review

On February 8, 2023, UPE met with the County regarding the above policy and procedure.


UPE inquired whether the background check would be initiated at the time of the referral. The County said they would take it back to their management team. We asked if there could be an exception for background checks to be made on ten (10) day referrals; if they are necessary, this can be staffed with the supervisor or PM. The County responded and said they would take it back to their ELT and get back to us.


The negotiation team felt the concerns and feedback regarding the policy are not being respected or heard by the County.
