Members of the UPE Board of Directors met with Sacramento County regarding changes to the Countywide Travel Policy. These changes were minor, with the County adding more succinct and inclusive language and deleting unnecessary language.

In addition, receipts will no longer be necessary for meals as County Employees will be compensated at the per diem rate (based on the U.S. General Services Administration meal rate). However, receipts for expenses related to taxis, Uber or Lyft services, shuttles, and airport transportation will still be necessary. The traveler’s expenses for these items are reimbursable at the actual cost of the receipt. Personal expenses while traveling remain the responsibility of the traveler.

UPE would like to thank Robert Shorter, Stephanie McCall, and Jennifer Avalo for their participation and advocacy at this meeting.
