UPE is aware of the recent changes to the use of sick and vacation leave and believes that these changes are unfair and exceed the normal practices of county operations. We will be filing “Unfair Practice Charges” with the Public Employees Relations Board (PERB) to fight this unfair assault on our members.
Additionally, the Office Technical Bargaining Unit (005), which represents over 1,500 county employees, met on Tuesday, June 24th, to take a strike vote, and it was unanimously approved by the members in attendance. They will also strike the County of Sacramento, if necessary, to preserve their healthcare benefits and continue to fight for a fair and livable wage
