Unit 3 Contract Negotiations Update

On May 8, 2024, UPE met with Merced County to negotiate a successor agreement for our Unit 3 members. During this session, UPE entered multiple proposals for important benefits such as Longevity, Vacation Time, and Sick Leave Accrual. These proposals aim to better serve the needs of our members, recognizing the dedication of long-term employees and ensuring they have ample time for rest and recuperation.

The session spotlighted UPE’s unwavering commitment to securing affordable healthcare and livable wages. The County gave its healthcare presentation, and UPE remains unyielding in its concerns about high healthcare rates and the limited options available, making it clear that providing cost-effective healthcare and livable wages is an essential requirement of top priority. UPE remains determined to secure fair wages and affordable healthcare benefits to ensure our members’ and their families’ financial well-being and health security.

Join UPE on May 21, 2024, at 10:00 AM in the Board Room on the third floor of the Merced County Administrative Building, located at 2222 M Street, Merced, CA, 95340, as we voice our concerns over our disappointment with the County in not contributing more to the cost of health care and livable wages. Your presence makes a difference!
