On April 16, 2025, UPE met with the Merced County Department of Tax Collector’s Office regarding a proposed Department Expectations Memo. The memo has not been issued or implemented. The meet and confer process is still ongoing. The proposed memo outlines expectations around confidentiality, professional conduct, assignment tracking, communication, meeting participation, attendance, phone use in restricted areas, and conflict management.
UPE is carefully reviewing the proposed language to ensure it does not conflict with your rights, protections under the MOU, or County policies. We are raising concerns where needed and ensuring that new expectations are clear, fair, and proper.
