On September 12, your Yuba governing board met with the court to discuss updates to their policies and procedures manual. Most of the edits were clean up, but a couple parts were points of contention, mainly the grievance procedure. They had given 10 days for employees to file, whereas management has 15 days to respond. We got them to mirror both to be 10 days and can be extended by mutual agreement. They agreed to all of our clarifying language, and the new P&P will take effect on October 1. The new additions are just additional leave granted by the state available to employees, for example, time off for alcohol and rehabilitation leave, military leave of absence, and a list of others available.
Off topic, but we mentioned the issue of courtroom chairs and the discomfort they are causing to employees. The court stated they are working on getting quotes and purchasing new chairs. We're happy our push for this is finally being worked on.
