HSA Telework Policy

UPE
UPE met with Merced County Department of Human Services Assistance, on January 10, 2025, regarding the new proposed telework policy. Under this policy, eligible employees can telework up to 50% of their scheduled work hours during a pay period. It’s important to remember that while teleworking, employees are expected to stick to their regular work hours and be available through phone, email, Teams, and video calls during that time.

If you receive messages from internal or external sources, it is expected that employees will respond within the same day. It was discussed that when working remotely, client communication should only be done using approved tools, and you should not use your personal phone for calls.  Additionally, a VPN and network access are required for any telework.

Telework will provide greater flexibility and enhance members’ freedom in balancing their busy schedules. We are still in the process of meet and conferring regarding these matters with the county, so please stay tuned for additional updates in the future.

UPE would like to thank Merced Governing Board Unit 3 Members Lisa Sykes and Melisa Hernandez for their advocacy and participation.

TOGETHER WE ARE STRONG!
