Greetings, UPE 005 brothers and sisters!

On April 23, 2026, UPE met with the County and Labor Relations to discuss the Financial Account Adjustment Policy. This is a new policy that covers financial adjustments that may be made by the accounting section. These duties include, but are not limited to, adding or reversing charges, assessing delinquency fees, and writing off uncollectable accounts. The policy also speaks to desk procedures being written, including, but not limited to, billing processes, guidelines for adding, reversing, or modifying charges, and the criteria for assigning delinquency fees.

UPE inquired about who will be performing the duties listed in the policy. The department responded and stated that either the Accountant or the Accounting Technician. Only the writing of the desk procedures will be performed by the employee working at their particular desk.

The department informed UPE that this policy will be finalized and distributed as soon as possible.

If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact Tezra Sledge, Business Agent, UPE.

Thank you for your advocacy, Usha Prasad.
