On September 19, 2023, UPE met with the County to discuss the above policy and procedure implementation and the impact it may have on our members.

Only one UPE position is under this division, which is currently vacant. UPE asked questions regarding the possibility of a telework schedule. The County responded that they are willing to look into allowing telework contingent on the member passing probation and the department's needs. UPE inquired about a possible RDO, to which the County responded that they would consider it in the future if the division grew. The new policy states that all requests for holiday time off scheduled from November 1 - March 1 should be submitted by October 1 to ensure an equitable process. The new policy has no significant changes to the practice as they memorialized it to the new division. If you have any questions, please reach out to your business agent.

Thank you to our 005 Governing Board member for her participation,

June Morris
