Rotation Pause / Outstationed Workers Temporary Rotation Back to Bureaus

Greetings, Union sisters and brothers. The title says it all: DHA management plans to turn our members’ work lives upside down during the CalSAWS transition period (please see attachment below for details of management’s “plan”).

Your team met with management on September 8, 2023, and asked many, many questions about their last-minute chaos plan.

We explained two things to management:

  1. The CalWORKs Intake service center function rotation must continue as scheduled and as previously agreed.

  2. The union insists that management must bring ALL CalSAWS-related issues to the Union at one time and place rather than piecemealing out different aspects of CalSAWS at different meetings at the last minute, which can only result in chaos.

The next CalSAWS-related meeting with management is scheduled for September 14, 2023, and your Union team’s demand is that all CalSAWS issues will be dealt with there. Your team realizes you will have many questions and concerns, especially after reading the attachment. The one assurance we can give you is that we will share all answers as we get them.

Stay tuned!

Thank you to the UPE Board members for their advocacy,

Nichole Gorman, James Starr and Stephanie McCall
