DCFAS/CPS: Car Seat Requirements and Usage

Hello Union Brothers and Sisters,

        UPE met with the County regarding a new policy for Car Seat Requirements and Usage on April 25, 2025.

UPE requested that the County make minor changes to the policy. For example, the policy stated that all County cars have car seats. The department agreed to change that to stating that there are specifically assigned County vehicles that have car seats.

During the meet and confer, it was discovered that there is no longer a form that the clerical support staff uses to request a replacement for car seats. There is now, instead, an online portal that the clerical support staff will go to when requesting a replacement. Also, the support staff will not have to make an appointment with the warehouse to pick up the replacement car seats. Instead, the warehouse will deliver to the appropriate location where the car seat is needed.
