On August 5, 2024, your UPE team met with the County to discuss the revision of the above policy and procedure (P&P). DCFAS/CPS management stated that this practice is already in existence, and this is just to codify what is taking place.
As UPE went over the policy, we asked the department to make minor changes, such as ER no longer using hard files as they are now paperless. Another was to make sure that Social Workers were clear on the forms they are to complete versus what forms should be completed by health care providers, attorneys, etc. We also asked that a link to the form be placed in the P&P where the department talks about said form.
At the conclusion of the meeting, UPE suggested that the department consider creating special medical needs position(s) weighted similarly to CSEC, as this may increase the workload.
Thank you, Sarah Singleton, for your advocacy!
