Court Professional Bargaining Update

On August 24, 2026, your UPE Court Professional Bargaining Team and Sacramento Superior Court continued negotiations. UPE continued to make proposals designed to improve working conditions and wages. That did not change at this meeting. UPE provided a counter to expand bereavement leave and maintained our position on fair and livable wages for our members. The Court has yet to respond to UPE proposals relating to Professional Dues, increases to Service Awards, increases to Vacation Accruals, and a proposal to guarantee an additional vacation slot for Probate Investigators. The Court and UPE made no progress toward an agreement on wages. The two sides did reach a tentative agreement on several Court proposals that only clean up and clarify contract language.

Our contract is scheduled to expire on August 31, 2026. UPE and the Court will meet again on August 28th and August 31st. UPE members must continue to prepare themselves for further action if the Court does not start to show more progress toward reaching a fair agreement.
