Your UPE Court Office-Technical Bargaining Team and Sacramento Superior Court held their first bargaining session on May 10, 2024. UPE presented the Court with ten proposals, both monetary and nonmonetary proposals. The Court provided UPE with three proposals. UPE and the Court reached a tentative agreement on two proposals.
The first proposal allows employees to voluntarily waive the 14-day waiting period before changes to work hours and work locations can take effect.
The second proposal clarifies language already in the contract related to training time. The Court will pay the cost of attendance for both required training and approved voluntary training. The Court treats time spent on required training as hours worked. Court-approved training, which takes place during off-duty hours with attendance voluntary but not required, is not hours worked. This proposal takes nothing away from our members.
The two parties are scheduled to meet again on May 24, 2024, to continue bargaining, where UPE plans to present further proposals on behalf of our members. Please continue to wear red on Fridays to show support for your bargaining team.
TOGETHER WE ARE STRONG!
