On August 4th, 2025, your 005 bargaining team resumed its negotiation session with the county towards a fair contract. We have reached a tentative agreement, thus there will be NO STRIKE tomorrow (Tuesday the 5th) or Wednesday the 6th.

We will have a membership meeting on Wednesday, August 6th, at UPE at 6 PM to go over the contract, proposals, and why or why not we agreed on certain things. Following this meeting, we will need members to sign off and vote on the new contract. We will be setting up ballot boxes at worksites for members to come and vote. The contract will then go to the Board of Supervisors for ratification to be in effect.

Summary of Agreements Made Today:
  • We were able to put in some safeguards in healthcare language to protect and make sure we have a seat at the table. We are able to maintain your current copayments until the end of 2026, and ensure Kaiser will be a provided option until 2028.
  • We got language to safeguard the county from contracting out your bargaining unit’s work for temp agencies or non-County workers.
  • Regarding wages, we agreed to 2.8% in year 1, and for those with 10 years (longevity), they will get an additional 1.5%, which is 4.3% in year 1. Year 2 is 3% and year 3 is 3%. Everyone who is new will also get a step increase in addition to the salary increase.

Thank you for supporting us in this long and hard fight. Please show up at our meeting at UPE (9333 Tech Center Dr #300) on August 6th at 6 PM to learn more about the contents of the contract & remember to VOTE at your local worksite ballot location.
