Greetings UPE Brothers and Sisters,

On April 9, 2025, your Office Technical Bargaining Team met with County representatives for another contract bargaining session. We presented two more proposals:

Voluntary Intra-departmental Transfers

  • This is language reflecting the 008 contract regarding intra-departmental transfer requests. It states that the County must select from the three (3) most senior employees who submit requests unless there are fewer than three (3) requests, in which case the County shall have the right to fill the permanent vacancy in any manner it chooses.

County-wide Vacancy Notification

  • We included language to strengthen the posting of vacancies to internal staff and to make hiring decisions fairly and equitably.

We also spent the day working on some counterproposals for the County and will bring them to the table next session.

Our next meeting is scheduled for April 15, 2025, where we will continue working towards attaining a new contract. Please remember to wear RED in support of your bargaining team while they are in session.

More to come. Stay tuned.

TOGETHER WE ARE STRONG!
