Today, your UPE 005 Bargaining team met with the County to continue negotiations on a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Although there has still been no movement from the County regarding salary increases, equity pay, and longevity, we made it clear that we will not agree to any terms blindly. The County wants us to accept their proposal for a wage increase before disclosing what they have available for equity adjustments and longevity.
During today's meeting, we presented a counterproposal to the County's latest proposal on Family Death Leave. We reached a tentative agreement on the continuation of the "Application Registration Differential" for those performing those duties in the Department of Human Assistance (DHA). Your team will remain firm on its economic proposals until the County begins to negotiate. The current contract is set to expire on June 30th, so we hope that the County recognizes the need for a sense of urgency to reach an agreement soon.
We will meet again on June 3rd, so please remember to wear RED to support your team.
