ATTENTION UPE MEMBERS

All UPE union members, by now you are aware that both the UPE 008 Welfare Non-Supervisory bargaining unit which represents over 2,000 Sacramento County employees and the UPE 005 Office- Technical bargaining unit which represents over 1500 Sacramento County employees are at impasse.

UPE received an injunctive relief notice from the County of Sacramento for classifications who work in CPS who have been designated as essential workers by the Department of Child Family and Adult Services.

These meetings with a State mediator and the DCFAS have concluded this week, and we have re-noticed the County today on 6/27 on our intent to STRIKE for a livable wage and for the County to keep their hands off our benefits!

The notice will call for a one-day STRIKE in the week of July 7th so that our members’ voices are heard. We must stand together on this day to demand that the County get back to the table and provide their employees with a livable wage increase and to not change our health benefits without mutual agreement.

Over the next week UPE will be issuing additional guidance and details on the STRIKE.
