PLACER BARGAINING UPDATE: Tentative Agreement Reached

On November 13, 2025, our Bargaining Team met with Court Administration and their representative from the Judicial Council to continue discussions on a successor agreement.
We have made numerous attempts to collaborate with the Court to reach an agreement, but they have been unwilling to give a proposal that has a guaranteed increase, only language that would trigger a higher increase.
By the end of the day, we were able to reach a tentative agreement when the Court finally showed some flexibility on pay. Below is a summary of what is in the TA.
Year 1, 3% with a one-time payment of $500 (gross) as well as a guarantee that if the cost-of-living adjustment provided to the employees in the Confidential, Management, and/or Senior Management Employee Groups in 2025 exceeds the foregoing, all bargaining unit employees shall receive that percentage instead.
Year 2, 3%. Which will increase to 4% if the TCTF allocation is above $29,949,000 for FY 2026/2027 and reduced to 2% if the TCTF allocation for FY 2026/2027 falls below $25,000,000. If the cost-of-living adjustment provided to the employees in the Confidential, Management, and/or Senior Management Employee Groups in 2025 exceeds the foregoing, all bargaining unit employees shall receive that percentage instead.
All employees in the bargaining unit who are employed at the time of ratification, and are still with the Court on April 3, 2026, will receive an additional retention bonus of $750.
Daily overtime- Employees will no longer need to worry about missing out on overtime pay if they have to take a day off in the same week.
Wellness Leave has increased from 8 to 16 hours.
Tahoe Subsistence pay has increased to $925 per month.
Extension of the Court Reporter Stipend.
We will hold a membership meeting on Wednesday, November 19th, at 5 PM in the jury room at the Gibson Courthouse. During this meeting, we will discuss the tentative agreement and address any questions you may have.
Additionally, UPE and your Board are coordinating the date for a ratification vote. There are a lot of details to work out but should have this date set before we meet on the 19th.
