On June 17 and June 20, 2025, UPE met and conferred with the Merced County District Attorney’s Office regarding proposed updates to their Policy Manual. These changes directly affect support staff who are UPE members.
The revised manual outlines expectations for dress code, attendance, use of County equipment, and general workplace conduct. It includes rules on professional appearance, how to notify supervisors when calling out or arriving late, and proper procedures for timecards.
The policy also covers personal use of office supplies, computer and cell phone use, confidentiality, and how staff should handle contact with law enforcement or report conflicts of interest.
UPE is still in the meet and confer process with the County to ensure fair and reasonable terms for our members. We will keep you informed as discussions continue. Stay United, Stay Informed
