Lead Court Attendant & Alternate Work Schedules

Updated: Jul 7, 2023

On August 11, 2022, your Court Office Technical Board met with the Courts regarding alternative work schedules and creating a Lead Court Attendant classification.

UPE prevailed in receiving alternative work schedules at CMJC. A number of employees will be allowed to work 7:30 - 4:30. This allows for the public, on the phone and at the virtual counter, to begin being assisted earlier. Management has agreed to allow members time to set up prior to assisting customers. In addition, current contract language was discussed regarding alternative work schedules at other Court locations as well. The Courts will consider alternative work schedule requests, in an attempt to promote a better work-life balance.

Another win for UPE members was the agreement of the creation of the Lead Court Attendant classification. This position will currently be offered only at CMJC with the possibility of positions at other Court locations in the future. Since this will be a promotional opportunity the classification will include a 5% pay difference from the current Court Attendant classification.

Thank you to the Court Office Technical Board
