United Public Employees represents 3500 members in the UPE 005 Office Technical and 008 Welfare Non-supervisory bargaining units in Sacramento County. These two UPE bargaining Units are planning a 1-day strike on July 8, 2025.
The UPE members in the Court Office Technical and Court Professional Bargaining Units are currently under contract. The terms of your contract prevent you from striking during the life of the contract and you must continue to work as you normally would.
You can however show your support for you UPE brothers and sisters by wearing red or a UPE shirt and/or by joining a nearby UPE picket during your break or lunch.
Your UPE Court Professional Bargaining Team held its second negotiations session with the Court on July 13, 2026. UPE passed three proposals, all related to providing more time off for our members.
