DHA: CalFresh Expedited Services and CalWORKs Immediate Need Screening

Your 008 bargaining team met with DHA management on October 25, 2024, regarding a proposed plan to add CalWORKs, and CalFresh Expedited Services screening units in all open lobbies.
 
The department would like to pilot these units; however, there are many unanswered questions about the selection process, including clerical duty changes and the impacts on the intake workers who would be losing HSSs to the screening units.
 
Additional meetings are being scheduled, so please stay tuned for updates.
