Greetings, UPE 005/008 brothers and sisters!

On April 2, 2026, UPE met with the County to discuss the transition of the telework applications with regard to how they will now be submitted and stored. The department is asking all staff to input their current telework information, including their current telework schedule and insurance information, into WISE.

UPE had minimal questions, such as: how long do employees have to enter their information into WISE, what happens if the information is not in WISE by the deadline, will this affect their current telework schedule, and how come admin. can’t do it? We also wanted to know what happens if the answers have changed from the previous telework application, and lastly, if the information is stored in the cloud.

The department stated that they would like to have all employees' information in WISE by April 30, 2026, and if the information is not in WISE by that date, the administration will be notified. will begin to contact you. This is not a new telework application; it is simply all employees entering their current information into WISE. Even if your answers have changed from your original telework application, this is not an opportunity for the department to review and/or deny telework. Unfortunately, the information is not stored in the cloud, but this will assist the department in better retaining the information provided.

If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact Tezra Sledge, Business Agent, UPE.

Thank you for your advocacy, Sondra Peters and Sylvia Garcia.
