COT Bargaining Update

Unfortunately, Sacramento Superior Court under Kelly Sullivan’s administration continues to undervalue its employees and employ more and more excuses for not offering our members a fair and livable raise.  Today, the Court’s latest lame excuse was the need to preserve reserve funds in case a natural disaster were to strike the Court.  The only natural disaster to strike the Court is the ongoing disaster caused by the Court’s mismanagement of its staff and funds.  Members continue to struggle with the failures of eCourt, a lack of access to vacation, and rising workloads and deserve just compensation, not made-up excuses like a phantom natural disaster.

Instead of a fair and livable raise, the Court announced at the table today the creation of three new committees: Culture, Succession, and Budget Advocacy.  These committees are the epitome of lip service and will do nothing to materially improve the lives of our workers.

UPE remains committed to fighting for our members.  At the table today, your UPE Court Office Technical Bargaining Team made it clear our members are sick of excuses.  The meeting then ended abruptly when the Court left without notifying UPE.

UPE is holding another Bargaining Advisory Meeting on Thursday, September 10th, 2026, from 6:15 pm to 7:15 pm at UPE (9333 Tech Center Dr., Suite 300, 95826) to further update members.
