On November 30, 2021, your UPE 008 Negotiations Team met with the County to present our counter-proposal regarding the ARPA funds. UPE reminded the County that the intent of the ARPA reopener was to negotiate based on the full $300 million the County was slated to receive, not $150 million.

Therefore, UPE presented the County with a counter-proposal of a one-time payment of $4400 or 80 hours of Administrative Time Off (40 hours of which can be cashed out). UPE also proposed changes to the eligibility criteria to ensure more members are eligible for either the cash payment or time off.

The County is scheduled to meet with the Board of Supervisors in a closed session meeting on December 7, 2021, to discuss our proposal. UPE and the County will meet again on December 9, 2021.
