The County is just another oppressor...you are not valued!
Greetings, Union Sisters and Brothers,
After 6 months at the bargaining table, your UPE 008 Bargaining Team met with the County in a last-ditch effort to get a fair contract before calling a STRIKE. When we saw the County's latest "offer", we knew the County doesn't value our members or what they do for the community. The County's pathetic short-sighted offer of 2.8% is still not enough. And County takeaways that threaten our medical benefits and employee rights are still unacceptable.
Sometimes talking just doesn't work and it comes down to a fight. By the time you read this, your team will have personally delivered our legal STRIKE notice to the Board of Supervisors.
Please stay alert for additional announcements and FAQs for the STRIKE that now appears inevitable. We are all in this together, and together we are stronger.
