Greetings, UPE Sisters and Brothers.  On February 6, 2025, your UPE 008 Bargaining Team met again with County management for the sixth contract negotiations session.  At this session, we proposed a 3-year contract with salary increases of 7% in the first year, 5% in the second year, and 5% in the third year.  We also proposed retention incentives, equity adjustments, and special pay allowances, which would result in additional pay raises for a majority of the 008 Bargaining Unit.  UPE also proposed a one-time payment of $2500 for all bargaining unit members in the first year.

Your UPE Bargaining Team proposed an increase in the County Medical subsidy for medical Tier B employees from the current 80% up to 85% of the medical premium and we proposed an increase in the County medical subsidy for Medical Tier A employees so that single coverage for the least expensive HMO plan is completely covered.

The next contract negotiation session is scheduled for February 13, 2025. For a detailed discussion of all the proposals made by both sides, please plan to attend the UPE 008 Bargaining Action Committee Meeting on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 6:00 pm at the UPE Office.  Watch for the meeting announcement, and stay tuned!
