UPE elected leaders, stewards, staff and volunteers work hard every day to represent members - protecting your rights and fighting for better working conditions. Probably the hardest job at UPE is making sure that all the members know what we are doing. Communication is especially important as we head toward contract negotiations. Information sharing must be a two-way street. Not only do we want to inform you, we need to hear from you. UPE is committed to increasing our communication with you.

Meetings
Board meetings are held monthly for each bargaining unit. Attending a meeting is the best way to get current information. These meetings are open to every member and all members are encouraged to attend the monthly meeting of their bargaining unit's board. Click here to find out when your board meets.
"Brown bag" lunch time union meetings are held at each worksite every three months with your Business Agent and Steward. These meetings are an important way for us to find out about issues and concerns where you work. Flyers are distributed announcing the day and time of the "Brown bags." Check the calendar or contact us at info@upe1.org for more information or to assist in scheduling the next meeting at your worksite.
Stewards Council is held on the third Thursday evening of each month. All members are welcome to sit in on Stewards Council meetings. Members who visit in often say they are amazed at how much is going on! RSVP to Teri at lecheminant@upe1.org is appreciated since we serve food at Stewards Council.

Local 1 publishes a news magazine several times a year. The New Frontiers is mailed to all members homes.
Bulletin Boards and Flyers
Every worksite has a designated bulletin board for union information. Bulletin Boards should be updated at least monthly. Is your bulletin board attractive and informative? If not let us know info@upe1.org. We really need members to help us keep bulletin boards up-to-date by posting flyers and removing old information. Can you help? Contact your Business Agent. HOTLINE 736-9521
During contract negotiations the hotline is updated at the end of each negotiation session. When we are not in contract negotiations, the hotline is updated each Monday afternoon with meeting and event reminders.
